Cyclo-olefin polymers (COPs) have excellent optical properties, especially low background fluorescence intensity comparable to glass, and are expected to be applied to microfluidic devices for fluorescence detection systems.
The graph on the left shows the results of the modification of the COP surface with oxygen plasma and Aqua Plasma®, and the water contact angle of the COP surface decreases with increasing RF power. At both power values, Aqua Plasma® was more hydrophilic than the oxygen plasma, demonstrating a superiority.
